“To promote and restore the concept and practice of Netuklimk in the Fundy Watershed”
Netukulimk is the use of the natural bounty provided by the Creator for the self-support and well-being of the individual and the community. Netukulimk is achieving adequate standards of community nutrition and economic well-being without jeopardizing the integrity, diversity, or productivity of our environment.
This will be achieved by:
- Restoring the relationships and connections between First Nations people and all other life in the watershed area. (networking, conservation);
- Researching, learning and sharing knowledge of Netuklimk, traditional ecological knowledge and how to live today in a way that restores Netuklimk (education; scientific research and expertise, conservation);
- Protecting our indigenous practices and perspectives (public education, youth Initiatives).
The primary focus of the MCG will be conservation and sustainability.
