Our mission

“To promote and restore the concept and practice of Netuklimk in the Fundy Watershed”

Netukulimk is the use of the natural bounty provided by the Creator for the self-support and well-being of the individual and the community. Netukulimk is achieving adequate standards of community nutrition and economic well-being without jeopardizing the integrity, diversity, or productivity of our environment.

This will be achieved by:

  • Restoring the relationships and connections between First Nations people and all other life in the watershed area. (networking, conservation);
  • Researching, learning and sharing knowledge of Netuklimk, traditional ecological knowledge and how to live today in a way that restores Netuklimk (education; scientific research and expertise, conservation);
  • Protecting our indigenous practices and perspectives (public education, youth Initiatives).

The primary focus of the MCG will be conservation and sustainability.
